This last weekend (9/12 - 9/13) I directed a music video for Ludwig Goransson, the song is called 'Stars' . We had a small crew with me as director, Jon Salmon as cinematographer and a few others. The video was shot on the Red One camera and we used the Lens Baby for a portion of the video creating some veautiful images. The amazing Alik Griffin will be editing this video and Jan Pfenninger will be doing the intricate animation. This has been my most ambition project to date. Planning many visual effects, sky replacement and shooting 'day for night' it was a very calculated and technical shoot. Ludwig and I have been discussing this project for months and all the stars finally lined up for us to make the video this last weekend. Ludwig's real life girlfriend Miriam Forsberg is the co-star of the film. It was difficult to schedule her into this project because she lives in Sweden and was only here in Southern California for a very short window of time. But after the shoot was over I was so happy we waited for her because of the chemistry her and Ludwig have and her great performance! The video was shot in San Elijo Lagoon in Cardiff, CA. We shot for 2 days and had great weather the whole time. We all got a little sun burned being out there for so long but we had a spectacular time filming in such a peaceful location. Because of the heavy post production on this video we are estimating a release around Christmas if not much later. I will update my blog as progress is made. :) |
